What is an Urgent Care Center?
These centers provide care for minor injuries and illnesses that require immediate attention, but are not severe enough for a trip to the emergency room, including cuts, sprains, eye injuries, colds, flu, fever, insect bites, and simple fractures. Urgent Care Centers are also helpful when your family pediatrician or primary care physician’s office is closed or unavailable. Patients are seen on a walk-in basis, with no appointments necessary, and reduced waiting times.

When should I go to an emergency room instead of an Urgent Care Center?
You should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room if you are experiencing an emergency medical condition. If you are not sure whether the condition you are experiencing is an emergency medical condition, you should go to the emergency room.
