United Behavioral HealthNeighborhood Health Partnership (NHP) is committed to providing you with the finest quality health care. Effective November 1, 2006, we have decided to contract with United Behavioral Health (UBH) to administer the treatment of mental health and substance abuse benefits. Your mental health and substance abuse benefit plan design will remain the same.
A UBH staff member is available to you and your family 24 hours a day, seven days a week to: UBH has a network of licensed professionals who specialize in the treatment of mental health and substance abuse problems. The UBH Customer Service Staff can help you locate Network Providers in your area or you may search online on www.liveandworkwell.com (access code “nhp”). UBH understands that you want to protect your privacy when you receive mental health or substance abuse services. All information is kept confidential in accordance with state and federal laws. Unless your situation is an emergency, many benefit plans require that you call and speak with a care manager before you begin treatment. The care manager will authorize the initial treatment and will send an authorization letter to you and your provider. If your provider determines that you need additional treatment, the provider must submit a written treatment request to UBH. An authorization letter confirms that the use of your benefits has been approved. Authorization is not a guarantee of payment since reimbursement is always subject to the limitations of your benefit plan.
